“Cossack vytivky” in Lebanon

On December 10, 2017 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, a festive concert dedicated to the Days of Ukrainian Culture in Lebanon took place, in which representatives of culture and art of Ukraine and the Lebanese Republic took part.


To participate in the festival, the group of power juggling of the National Bogomolets Medical University “Cossack vytivky”, which represented the International Gira Sport Federation and the Gira Sport Federation of Ukraine with the purpose of presentation of kettlebell lifting in Lebanon, was also invited. In the group of the master of power juggling doctor Sergey Popovich, Viktor Ivakhnenko and a Lebanese citizen, silver medalist of the World Kettlebell Championship among students, Rome Humani. Founder, leader and member of the group, the record holder of the Guinness Book of Records, Iuri Shcherbina. The presentation of kettlebell lifting in Lebanon was held during the festive concert, as well as by conducting master classes in sports and fitness clubs in Lebanon in the cities of Beirut and Nabati-Duero. In addition, a meeting was held with representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Lebanon, during which the prospects for the development of kettlebell lifting in the Lebanese Republic were discussed.
     The International Gira Sport Federation and the Gira Sport Federation of Ukraine express their gratitude for the invitation to Lebanon, especially the Embassy of Lebanon in Ukraine in the person of the Assistant Ambassador of Lebanon in Ukraine Tony Zhmael and the Embassy of Ukraine in Lebanon represented by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Lebanon Igor Ostash. Great thanks to the leaders of the airline “BRAVO” Rodrik Mergezh and Marunu Mergezh, thanks to which we reached Lebanon. We are also grateful for the support during the speeches of People’s Deputy of Ukraine Sergei Sobolev, who, incidentally, also raised weights during the break between the performances of the group.
